The mission of UK Service Corps is to connect UK students with sustained involvement opportunities that promote student learning and community development. UK student participants make a commitment to volunteer each week at the same volunteer site for an entire semester. UK Service Corps provides unique experiences for students to become immersed in the community they are serving, learn about the social issues relevant to their volunteer site, and reflect on their experiences throughout the semester. Students can choose from one of the volunteer sites below:
The Kids Cafe is devoted to assisting kids ages 4-17 with tutoring and homework help, one-on-one reading, games, educational activities, and serving them dinner! For the fall semester, volunteer times will be every Monday-Friday from 3:00-5:00pm.
Operation Motivation connects with and impacts high school students by helping them graduate and pursue their dreams! For the fall semester, volunteer times will be every Tuesday and Wednesday from 4:00-6:00 pm.
The William Wells Brown Center is committed to keeping children safe and healthy during after school hours! For the fall semester, volunteer times are every Wednesday from 6:00-7:30.
Elevate provides students with a positive educational opportunity that allows them to succeed academically and behaviorally. For the fall semester, volunteer times will be every Tuesday and Wednesday from 5:00-7:00pm.
The purpose of the St. Luke Kids Cafe location is to provide homework and academic assistance to children ages 4-17 as well as the E7 location. For the fall semester, volunteer times will be held every Tuesday from 3:00-5:00pm.
Connect meetings will be held on: January 29 6-7:30, February 19th 6-7:30 and April 16th 6-7:30
Site Leader Trainings Sessions will be held on February 17 and April 7th.
